A man, Wale Akinbinu will be spending the next seven years in prison custody after he was found guilty for stealing a Nissan Pathfinder SUV before a court in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Mr Akinbinu’s journey to prison started after one Pathfinder SUV with registration number, JJJ 610 CM belonging to Mr. Lawrence Nwankwo got missing.
The theft was reported to the police at Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS who moved into action and traced the missing vehicle to Akinbinu.
He was trailed, arrested and detained at FSARS where he was interrogated for several days before he opened up and confessed stealing the vehicle.
It gathered that Akinbinu did not only admit of committing the crime, he reportedly mentioned his accomplices who were now at large.
Akinbinu was arraigned before Ikeja Magistrates court for conspiracy and stealing.
He pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Benson Emuehi presented the facts before the court and Akinbinu affirmed the facts before the court and pleaded for leniency.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi found him guilty as charged and sentenced accordingly.
Akinbinu will have to spend the next seven years serving his sentence.
