A 24-year old man, Chinonso Iyiegbu has been sentenced to six months imprisonment without an option of fine, for stripping himself and using his manhood to harass women in his compound in Lagos.
The incident happened at 40 Godwin Omonua Street at Ira-Akari Estate in Isolo area of Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Iyiegbu’s journey to prison began after he was alleged to have gone naked and displayed his manhood publicly which frightened women especially the young girls in the compound. It was learnt he continued to the extent that women no long came outside due to Iyiegbu’s conduct.
The matter was reported to the police, the police trailed, caught him in the act, arrested and detained him at the station.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the police tried to determine his mental status and discovered that nothing was wrong with him and that he deliberately used the antics to harass women in the compound.
He was charged before the court for the alleged harassment and conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.
The prosecutor, Mr. Oje Uagbale during the fact and sentence proceedings told the court that Iyiegbu conducted himself in an indecent manner by publicly smoking Indian hemp and thereafter going naked, harassing the women in the compound with his manhood.
The prosecutor also informed the court that he stole a table top fridge valued at N55,000 belonging to a female tenant, Onyinye Ezeh and sold it. He urged the court that since Iyiegbu had no mental challenge and had pleaded guilty to the charges, he should be sentenced to serve as deterrent to others who might do same in the public.
The court found him guilty and sentenced him accordingly. Iyiegbu was then moved to the prison custody at Kirikiri, Lagos.
