Man Kills Neighbour Over His Pigs Pen

A 52-year old senior Accountant, Wasiu Idowu Sholaja has died after he was brutally attacked by his neighbour over location of pigs pen in their community in Lagos.
The incident happened at Babs Lawal street in Itamaga area of Ikorodu, Lagos.
The suspect Segun Irein and his wife have been arrested over the attack and murder of Sholaja.
Segun who owned a pig pen, allegedly  stabbed  his neigbour to death  with an object presumed to be laced with charms.
The wife of the deceased, Modupe lamented that her husband suffered the fate because he had merely joined other residents of Radio Community in Itamaga in requesting for the relocation of the pig pen on the grounds that the stench from the pig pen had health hazard effect on the environment.
Segun reportedly turned deaf ears to all the entreaties and had gone along with his business daring any one to come near the pen.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the late Sholaja was one of the most prominent voice against the location of the pig pen and thus Segun and his wife on 30 January attacked the deceased on his way to drop his children at their respective schools.
He initially sustained injuries and was rushed to a hospital where he eventually died.
The bereaved wife, Modupe narrated what happened before the killing of her late husband, who worked as an accountant/auditor with the Ogun State Internal Revenue Service.
She said deceased added his voice and condemned the location of pig pen in the compound duo to offensive odour coming from it.
She said on different occasions, Segun had threatened to kill and was going to shed blood of any one who dare to question him about his pigs in the area and true to the threat, her husband was attacked and eventually murdered.
Following the alleged murder, Segun and his wife have been arrested and detained at State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCID Panti for further investigation.
Modupe  said her nightmare now is the threat on her and her children.
She said since the arrest of Segun, his family and relatives have also be threatening them and said they will also deal with them.
She then appeal to the police to help provide her with cover and prevent them from terminating her life and that of her children.
