A 28-year old man, Ibrahim Isah, who allegedly killed his wife’s friend one Mrs. Florence Obinali, 50, for visiting his wife late at night while he was already waiting in the bedroom has opened up on what made him to kill her.

Embattled Isah said that he was angry after the deceased came very late to pay his wife the debt she owed her when they had gone to bed. He narrated that instead of paying the debt and going back as it was already late, she engaged his wife in a long discussion while he was inside waiting for his wife. He said that he did not deliberately intend to kill her but lost his temper and attacked both her and his wife.

However, his action has landed him in trouble as he engaged Florence and killed her in the process.
He was arrested and detained at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID Panti Yaba, Lagos for murder.

The incident happened at 15, Olaniyi Street in Julie Estate, Oregun area of Lagos where they reside.

It was gathered that Isah and the late Florence had a disagreement over an undisclosed matter which resulted in physical fighting between the duo. During the fight, Isah reportedly attacked, used a plank to hit her on the head and the woman slumped. She was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where the doctor merely certified her dead and the corpse was deposited at the mortuary for autopsy test.

P.M.EXPRESS learnt that when Isah hit the victim with the plank, she slumped and he attempted to escape but the neighbours present prevented him and handed him over to the police in the area. When the police confirmed that Florence was already dead, the matter was transferred to the Homicide Department of the SCIID for further investigation.
He was later charged before the Ebute Metta Magistrates Court for murder and his plea was not taken.
The prosecutor, Inspector Jimah Iseghede, informed the court that it was a case of willful murder and would need the advice of DPP.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A. Kusanu, ordered Isah to be remanded in prison without an option of bail.
The court also directed the prosecutor to send his file to DPP for advice.

It was gathered that if the DPP finds him culpable, the matter will be transferred to the High Court for trial.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Isah may spend his remaining years in prison if he is tried and found guilty of murder.
