Man Lands In Prison For Engaging Girl, 15, In Sex Romp

A 34-year old man, one Charles Okpara has landed in trouble in Lagos after he reportedly engaged his neighbour’s 15-year old girl in sex romp and he was eventually caught in the act.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the man was arrested and charged before the Court for defilement and may likely spend several years in prison custody because of the age of the victim.
The incident happened at Ebun Close, Casso area of Alagbado, Lagos where they reside.

The man allegedly lured the victim and engaged her in sex after he reportedly confused her with words of mouth and she fell into the trap.
However, the matter was exposed after their neighbours, who suspected their movement all along, confronted the victim and she confessed. She then told her parents that it was the defendant who initiated moves and lured her into the act.
The parents of the victim then reported to the Police that their under aged girl was raped by their neighbour. Thus, the man, Okpara, was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command at Ikeja, Lagos.

At the Gender Section, he admitted that he slept with the victim normally after she accepted and played along without him forcing her.
However, the police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement because the victim was a minor.
The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice because it involved a minor.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, ordered his remand in prison custody without an option of bail.
The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 5th August, 2019, for report of the DPP to be ready.
