P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the angry robbers used a cutlass on him, severed his two hands from his body and escaped.
The incident happened at Balogun Street by Brown Junction in Oshodi area of Lagos where the victim resides.
The victim was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where he was undergoing treatment while the matter was reported to the police at Akinpelu Division who moved in to investigate the matter.
One of the suspects, one Jimoh Azeez, was arrested in connection with the robbery and was charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for attempted murder.
According to the police, Azeez, 27 and others conspired to commit felony to wit murder by cutting both hands of Yusuf Bamidele with machete. The police also alleged that the defendants robbed one Sunday Sonuga of the sum of N460,000 but left him unhurt whereas Bamidele lost his hands because he had no money to give them.
