A 50- year old man, Augustine Okafor has landed in trouble after he reportedly made several attempts to sleep with his 18-year old daughter (name withheld) in their family house in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Okafor was arrested and charged before a Lagos court for sexual molestation and assault by tampering with the victim’s private part.
The incident happened at their house located at Olademeji Street in Aguda, Surulere Lagos where they reside.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the victim had been a victim of sexual molestation by his father and she kept the trauma to herself for years because of shame.
She had reportedly warned her father to desist from making moves to sleep with her by touching her private part because it was an abomination for him to even think and do so. But the father did not listen to her and continued to harass her sexually which made her to become restless at home.
According to Police sources, the victim was also ashamed to tell anybody even the members of her family what she was passing through from her own father.
It was gathered that on the day the father reportedly attempted it before his arrest, he reportedly grabbed the victims and was putting his finger into her private part before she raised alarm and exposed him.
She then went and reported her father to the Gender Section of the police who arrested and detained him at the Station.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that at the station, the father confessed that he was deeply in love with his daughter and always had the desire to sleep with her.
He denied ever having carnal knowledge of her but admitted touching her private part. He was brought and charged before Ogba Magistrates court for sexual assault by touching her daughter’s private part under the Criminal code.
He pleaded not guilty.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the presiding Magistrate, Mrs Davis Abegunde admitted him on bail and remanded him in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
