A man, Gbade Olaniyi, may not forget in hurry the serious beating he had received from his wife, Olubunmi, after he was allegedly caught for sleeping with their neighbour in Ibadan, Oyo State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the man, an electronics trader, got serious slaps and beatings from his wife, Olubunmi, after the information was leaked to her about his adulterous life for the past seven years that the marriage had lasted.

Thus, the man, Gbade, has petitioned an Ile-Tuntun Customary Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, to dissolve his marriage with Olubunmi, because she beats him frequently.

While testifying before the Court Gbade stated: ”My wife has emasculated me. She has sent my friends and family away. Anytime we have minor misunderstanding, she gives me dirty slaps. In fact, I received the last slaps on Sunday 10th August, 2021 and she tore my skin with her fingernails”.

“She said she did it as I did not tell her where I went when she asked me. She has neglected her role as a wife because she leaves home for days and even months for no reason,” he said.

In response, Olubunmi consented to the dissolution of the marriage because he was tired of him too as well and told the Court to answer his prayer.

“My lord, my husband has turned me into a pauper. Our children don’t even have good clothes to wear. I sometimes leave the home because he never took care of me during pregnancy.I slapped him because he sleeps with a certain young girl, named Shukurat, in our house and the secret leaked to me.”
“I got to know when Shukurat’s aunt attacked him in my presence. I also have evidence of the love messages and airtime sent by my husband to the girl and how they had been going to the hotel together,” Olubunmi explained.

The President of the Court, Henry Agbaje, held that the evidence provided by the two parties were not sufficient enough and therefore, requested them to furnish the Court with more to prove that the relationship has broken down.

He  adjourned the matter and ordered them to bring their relatives for possible resolution of the disagreement to save the marriage.
