Man Who Sells Friend’s SUV Lands In Jail

A 44-year-old man, Solomon Fregena, has been  arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly  beating up his friend who he  was owing a sum of money in  Lagos .

The incident happened at 251 Egbeda~Idimu  road in  Egbeda where Fregena resides.

P.M. EXPRESS gathered that the victim, Monday Omede, gave Fregena a Toyota Rav4 SUV to sell for  N850,000 with a promise to settle him after he might have sold the SUV.

Fregena agreed with the term only for him to renege. PM EXPRESS gathered that after Fregena sold the SUV, he didn’t only fail to settle the owner but refused to pick Omede’s calls on several occasions.

Omede, who suspected Fregena, decided to pay a surprised visit to him at his house only for him to end up being brutally attacked.

The matter was reported to the police and the suspect was arrested and charged to court with assault under the Criminal Code .

At the police Idimu station, Fregena confessed that he had sold the SUV and used the money  to  solve his personal problems.

He was charged before Ejigbo Magistrate court where he pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs  A.O.Adeyemi granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in the like sum .

He was remanded in prison  custody pending when  he will perfect his bail conditions .

The matter was adjourned till 5 April, 2017.
