CYRIACUS IZUEKWE

A 39-year old man, Kingsley Oriakwu has confessed that he sold two out of his five children and their landlord’s son in order to raise money to bury his father in-law and pay his rent.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect revealed that he sold his children – a 3-year old daughter and 2-year old son for N120,000 while their landlord’s 7-year old son was sold for N190,000 through a female pastor who runs Queen Esther orphanage home at Aba in Abia State.

The suspect who lived with his family at Waheed Ogunseye Street, Kabowe, Meiran area of Lagos said he moved into the area two months before he committed the alleged offence.

On how he executed the evil plan, Oriakwu said the victims were sick and he lied to his wife that he was taking them to a hospital but took them to one Pastor Adaorah Obi who facilitated the sales and he was paid.

He narrated that when his wife asked him about the children, he told her that they were with his sister in their village in Abia State.

On the landlord’s son, Oriakwu revealed that he lured him out from the house to help him buy N100 recharge card under false pretence, abducted him on 20th October, 2017 and took him to Abia State where all the other victims were recovered.

Oriakwu explained further what led him to commit such heinous crime and said, “I married the first child of the family and the burial ceremony expenses fell on my wife. That was why I looked for every means to assist her to give her father a befitting burial and then pay my house rent.”

The detectives from Special Anti-Robbery Squad attached to Lagos State Police Command have arrested Oriakwu and two of his female accomplices, Mrs. Loveth Nwankwo and Pastor (Mrs) Adaora Obi for their roles.

They were paraded alongside other suspects by the Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal at the State Command, Ikeja, Lagos.

Pastor Obi who was the founder of Jesus Solution Ministry was arrested in Port Harcourt in Rivers State while Mrs. Nwankwo was arrested in Anambra State and brought to Lagos.

The Lagos police boss said that the suspects will be charged to court.
