Pastor Miracle John may not have realised that one of his members, Mr. Chibuike Stephen had not really repented until he entrusted him with his car recently in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Mr. Stephen did the unthinkable after Pastor John entrusted his Nissan Infinity saloon car in his care to sell and remit the money to him.

The incident happened at Ago Road in Isolo, Lagos where they resided and the church was located.

It was learnt that the victim had trusted him so much and equally thought that Stephen had genuinely repented. However, Pastor John was wrong following what transpired between them in the transaction.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Stephen sold the car with registration KJA 777 BU for N350,000, bolted with the money and refused to remit it to Pastor John. He also left the area and disconnected every links. It was gathered that when Pastor John had waited in vain, he was able to reach him on the phone at a point and Stephen reportedly told him that his spirit directed him to withhold the money and use it to start a business and then switched off the phone.

The alleged criminal conversion was reported to the police at Isolo Division. Stephen was trailed, later arrested and detained at the police station. When he was asked to bring the money he got from selling the car, he was unable to do so. Rather he told the police that he had spent the money and should be given time to pay it gradually.

He was then charged before Isolo Magistrates court for the alleged offence.

He pleaded not guilty.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E Kobenje granted Stephen bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The prosecutor, Inspector Rita Momah did not object his bail condition because the offence he committed was bailable.

He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 16 May, 2018.
