A 28-year old Ekpenyong Lucky has landed in trouble after he broke a shop, stole N4,000 kept there and escaped in Lagos.

The police alleged that Lucky burgled a shop along Akowonjo Road in Shasha, stole the money belonging to one Mrs. Esther Noah and escaped.

However, while he was escaping, he was caught and handed over to the police at Shasha Division who detained him. P.M.EXPRESS gathered from police sources that it was not the first time Lucky has committed such a crime and escaped. But this time, he was unable to escape as he was apprehended and handed over to the police.

Lucky was charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrates court for the alleged offence.

He pleaded guilty and asked for leniency before the court.

The prosecutor asked that the court should give a short date for fact and sentence since Lucky has pleaded guilty.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. K.J. Layeni upheld the prosecutor’s motion and adjourned for facts and sentence.
Meanwhile the court ordered that Ekpenyong Lucky be remanded in prison custody pending when the facts will be presented to the court and he will sentenced accordingly.
