Justice may have come the way of a 2-year old girl who was allegedly defiled by a 35-year old man, Adekunle Olalere, in Ogun State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that an Ogun State High Court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, has sentenced Olalere to life imprisonment for defiling the 2-year-old girl.
The defendant, Olalere was convicted on Tuesday, for defiling the girl and will have to spend the rest of his life in custody for the dastardly act.
The convict, Olalere, who resides No. 18, Bashorun Street, Off Unity Road, Olowotedo, Mowe, Ogun State, had pleaded not guilty of the charge.
But the judge, Justice Abiodun Akinyemi, while delivering his judgment, said the defendant was guilty of the charge against him sequel to the evidence tendered to the Court by the prosecutor.
On that note, Justice Akinyemi sentenced him to life imprisonment.
According to what the Assistant Chief State Counsel, Mrs. Oluyemisi Arulebe, narrated to the Court, the convict committed the offence on March 22, 2017, in his residence, No.18 Bashorun Street, Off Unity Road, Olowotedo Area of Mowe, Ogun State.
According to the Prosecutor, the convict forcefully had Intercourse with the 2-year old girl.
She said the victim’s mother was a sales girl to Mr. Olalere, who is the convict.
On that fateful day, the victim’s mother saw her 2-year old girl rolling on the floor in severe pain with a swollen vagina. She was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital before confirming there was a trace of sperm cell in her vagina thereby confirming she was raped by the convict.
Mrs. Oluyemisi Arulebe said that the convict breached Section 32 of the Child Right Law of Ogun State 2006.
