CYRIACUS IZUEKWE

A 26-year old man, Wasiu Ganiyu has landed in trouble after he led some suspected thugs to attack his rival, Mr. Abiodun Temidayo in Lagos. They allegedly stripped him naked and took his nude pictures to post on the internet.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Oko filling station in Igando area of Lagos where the suspects ambushed the victim and attacked him.

What would have made the suspects to carry out such attack was still a thing of surprise to many who heard what happened, because they were living in the same area in Igando.

The suspect, Ganiyu has been arrested and charged to court from where he was remanded in prison custody over the act.
It was gathered that before Ganiyu would carry out the mission to publish the pictures, Temidayo pleaded with him and he asked him to pay N50,000.

The victim then went to Igando Police Station and reported how the suspect arranged with two other suspects now at large, attacked and stripped him naked.
He told the police that he was overpowered, stripped, they took his nude pictures with their phones, demanded for N50,000 and threatened to post the photos on the social media within a given time.

The police then moved into action, trailed Ganiyu, arrested and detained him at the police station.

P.M.EXPRESS was unable to establish why the suspects committed such act. But some people in the area said that it might not be unconnected with a fight between the suspect and victim over a lady living in the same area.

However, Ganiyu was charged before Ejigbo Magistrates court for the alleged offence.

He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector G. Simon did not oppose his bail rather he asked the court to give a short adjournment for the trial proper.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.K.J. Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The defendant was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 16 May, 2018.
