Manager Docked For Stealing Company’s N10m Kept In His Custody

The manager of RUXX Nigeria Limited,  Godson Uche, has been charged for allegedly stealing N10m kept in his custody by the management in Lagos State.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the 35-year old Uche has been arraigned before the Ojo Magistrate Court for tempering with the money kept with him between March and July, 2024 in their office located at Ilogbo Road, Ajangbadi area of Lagos where he was employed as a manager.

 

According to the Police, the manager fraudulently converted the money kept under his care to his own personal use without the consent of the owner of the company, Honvu Emmanuel.

 

He landed in trouble after the company discovered that the money was missing and asked him to bring the money but he claimed that he had used it to solve his personal problems.

 

The matter was reported to the Police at Ilembe Hausa Division; he was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

 

During interrogation, the manager admitted to have kept the money but used it. And that he will need time to refund the money to the company as such he did not steal the money.

 

However, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Laws of the State.

Part of the charges read:

“That you, Godson Uche ‘m’, between the 1st of March, 2024 and 13th day of July. 2024 at about 10:00hrs along Ilogbo Road, Ajangbadi, Ojo Lagos State, in the Ojo Magisterial District, being the General Manager of RUXX Nigeria Limited, did fraudulently convert the sum of Ten Million, Two Hundred and Eighty One Thousand, Sixty Five Naira (N10,281,065:00k) only, kept under your care to your personal use without the consent of the owner, one Honvu Emmanuel ‘m’, being represented by one Emuyukii Emudiaga ‘m’, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280(1)(b) and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

He pleaded guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Uche Simeon, asked the Court to give a date for him to present the facts of the matter to enable the Court to sentence him accordingly since he pleaded guilty.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr L.K.J. Layeni, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center and adjourned the matter till 28th August, 2024, for facts and sentence.
