An explosion recently killed 22 people and injured 64 outside a concert by pop star Ariana Grande in Manchester.
In a statement by the organization’s Secretary General, Bashiru Adewunmi Agunloye, the Atlanta-Lagos Sister Cities Committee said that the attack on innocent people in Manchester was an act of wickedness and unacceptable. This they said must be condemned by the world.
The Atlanta-Lagos Sister Cities Committee described the activities of terrorists in recent times in some countries cities including Paris, Nice, St Petersburg, Brussels, Berlin and London as barbaric, inhumane, cowardly and anti-progressive.
According to Agunloye, whatever motives or reasons of the terrorists-Al Qaeda, Islamic State (ISIS) or the Boko Haram that are operating in Nigeria-could be, their action is unacceptable and inhumane.
“How can some people be using religion as cover to perpetuate devilish and killing fellow human being. This is bad and we cannot accept it,” Agunloye said.
