Human Rights activist and public affairs analyst, Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, has called on the political class, public servants and leaders to emulate patriotism, sacrifice, selflessness and humanitarian disposition of Dr. Nelson Mandela, which precipitated his incarceration for 27 years for his people to be liberated and to eradicate Apartheid.

He said that South Africans reciprocated selfless sacrifices and patriotism of Mandela when they overwhelming elected Dr Mandela their first post Apartheid President of South Africa.

“It is pertinent to recall that at the end of his first tenure despite unprecedented pressure by South Africans to contest for second tenure, he declined in order to give leadership opportunities to the younger generations in a continent with sit-tight leaders. Nigeria is in dire need of leaders in the likeness of Mandela if truly we want to put Nigeria on path of socioeconomic progress and prosperity.”

“Dr. Nelson Mandela has exhibited uncommon and unequal sacrifice and selfless that deserved commendation and emulation.”
“Nigerians desperately need leaders with overreaching desire to show love, empathy to the people not leaders desirous for unbridled quest for materialism, power, self glorification and aggrandizement.”

“It is of prime importance to note that for our leaders to get it right and make our bad good, our good better, our better best, they should emulate the selfless life of Mandela by sharing, giving not having, getting and receiving” Ezekwueme posited.
