Married Man, 55, Arrested For Having Sex With Girl, 8

A 55-year old man, Olatunji Titilayo, has landed in trouble for allegedly sleeping with a 8-year old girl in Lagos.

The incident happened at Ijeshatedo Road in Surulere area of Lagos where they reside.

When people around the neighbourhood heard about it, they wondered what had attracted Olatunji to have indulged in such act. Some claimed that since he had a wife that it may be related to directive from native doctors for spiritual or ritual purposes.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Olatunji reportedly lured the victim into his apartment when his wife was not around, pulled his pant and forcefully penetrated the 8-year old victim. He was said to have injures her in the process of the forceful penetration.

The matter got exposed after the victim told her parents what happened and the injury she sustained in the process.
The issue was reported to the police and Olatunji was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for interrogation where he reportedly admitted committing the offence.
After interrogation, the police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement.
The prosecutor asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice because the victim was a minor.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered Olatunji to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the defendant may have to spend several years in prison if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends his trial.
Meanwhile, Olatunji will remain in prison pending when the DPP advice will be ready.
