P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Umeh brutally beat the deceased before she died in his house and in the process of carrying her corpse away his neighbours alerted the police at Ago Division.

This happened on the day the victim visited Umeh to mark her birthday with him.

It was gathered that the Plateau State-born Happiness visited Umeh who hails from Orumba South local government in Anambra in a bid to take her to a popular night club to mark her day.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Umeh reportedly left her at the club when she greeted a male friend who she knew and saw in the club.

The deceased later returned to Umeh’s house, who locked his door from inside upon seeing her. He beat the victim until she collapsed and died.

Umeh who is married with four kids but his wife was said to be living in his village attempted to carry her corpse before police arrived but was apprehended. The corpse was retrieved from Umeh and deposited at the Isolo General Hospital mortuary.

Umeh was arrested and detained at police Division where he was said to have made confessional statement.

When our reporter visited Ago Police division, the DPO was not around to comment on the matter.

However, police sources at the station confirmed the incident and told P.M.EXPRESS that Umeh has been transfered to the State Criminal and Intelligent Department, SCIID at Panti for further investigation.
