A 48-year old married man, one Osei Maxwell, has landed in trouble in Lagos after he lured his neighbour’s 6-year old girl and engaged her in a sex romp.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that he was caught in the act and handed over to the police.

The incident happened at Oke Idimu compound in Idimu area of Lagos where they reside.

Their neighbours who heard what happened wondered what would have led the married man to commit the alleged crime since he had a wife living with him.
Police source said that Maxwell lured the victim into his apartment, removed her pant and engaged her in a romp.

However, their neighbour who suspected the victim’s movement raised alarm and forced Maxwell’s door open and rescued the victim.
It was gathered when the little girl was asked what she was doing with Maxwell and she revealed that he raped her.

The parents reported the assault to the Ikotun Police Division; the suspect was arrested and detained at the station for investigation.
The police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates court for defilement. The offence was said to attract heavy punishment if the married man was tried and found guilty before the court.
However, the prosecutor, Inspector Benson Emerhi, informed the court that it was a case of defilement and would require DPP advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O Sule-Amzat, did not take his plea and ordered him to be remanded in prison custody without granting him bail.
The court directed the prosecutor to send the file to DPP for advice while the defendant will remain in prison custody till when the DPP report will be ready.
The matter was adjourned till 31st January, 2018. It was gathered that the matter will be transferred to the High Court if the DPP report finds him culpable.
