A Socio Culture group, Arewa For Unity Forum in Borno State has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for assigning Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation to Dr. Betta Edu, saying the president’s choice is a round peg in a round hole.

In a statement signed by Saliu Abdul, an executive of the group, he said based on the track record and experience in humanitarian service, Edu would not disappoint the president and entire citizens of Nigeria.

“She already started the humanitarian role in the office as a National Women Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress when she came to our State and empowered thousands of women financially for petty trading while carrying out health outreach for over 5000 IDPs in Konduga. This she has replicated in several other states in the country. Her humble disposition is a game changer,” the Group stated.

The Group boasted that Edu’s appointment as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation would herald new developmental strides in fight against poverty in Nigeria.

“Dr Betta Edu is not just a politician, but an administrator per excellence, who will stop at nothing in bringing the dividends of democracy to the people; a reliable and trustworthy fellow, whose doors are open to everyone.

“Even in her achievements in various political offices previously held is a testimony to her capacity, ability, and courage to change the narrative on leadership management at all levels.”

The Group called on Nigerians especially Northern Youths to support her alleviate poverty in the region caused by insurgency while calling on her to be vigilant and ensure North East Development Commission is well funded for developmental strides of the region.
