Ministry Of Transport Partners Imo Digital City For Vehicle Painting

The Imo State Ministry of Transport has entered into a partnership with Imo Digital City to commence the painting of commercial vehicles into the official Imo colours, as part of efforts to modernize and streamline the state’s transport system.

During a facility tour of Imo Digital City, the Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Emeka Okoronkwo, applauded Governor Hope Uzodimma for his visionary leadership and for entrusting him with the responsibility of driving reforms in the transport sector.

Hon. Okoronkwo, who inspected the readiness of the facility, expressed satisfaction with the modern services available for vehicle painting, comprehensive repairs, and security checks. He described the development as a milestone that would unify the identity of commercial vehicles, strengthen safety standards, and improve the overall aesthetics of transportation across the state.

“All commercial vehicles, including franchises, should begin to prepare their vehicles for proper painting into the approved Imo colours,” he directed. “This initiative is aimed at bringing order, identity, and security to our transport system.”

The Commissioner also urged Imo citizens to visit the world-class facility to experience firsthand the services available, which range from painting to full automobile repairs. He emphasized that the project reflects Governor Uzodimma’s commitment to modernization, discipline, and accountability in the transport sector.

Present during the facility tour were key stakeholders and officials including Barr. Mrs. Stella Ozo Ezenduka, General Manager, Imo Digital City Limited; Anthony Okoronkwo, Facility Manager; Amaefule Primeous, Hub Supervisor; Ben Uwakwe, Director of Administration and Finance; Ifeoma Anorka, former Permanent Secretary; Eririogu Kingsley, Head of Department, Transport; Emeana Ferdinand, Special Adviser on Technical; Engr. Onyeka, President, Imo City Transport; Mr. Chidiebere Umunnakwe, PRO ICT; Elder Analechi Ukawunne, Vice President ICT; and Mr. Chukwuemeka Eze, among others.
