A Model United Nations Ambassador and the President of a human rights, good governance and civil liberties organization, Youth Advocates For Peace Justice And Empowerment Network (YAPJEN) on Tuesday 13th August, 2019, honoured Dr. Lady Francisca Uche Obi, the Founder, Women And Family Advancement Initiative (WAFAI) – a non-profit, non-governmental organization in Owerri, Imo State.
While making the presentation in Owerri, Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu described Dr. Lady Uche Obi as an Amazon and a leading light among Nigerian women, whose impact on the populace has become a motivation and a force to reckon with.
He applauded Dr. Francisca Uche Obi for her giant strides and empowerment programmes through her non-governmental organization WAFAI. He further called on the Nigerian government at all levels to borrow a leaf from the people’s oriented programmes which the WAFAI founder had initiated for the welfare of the society most especially as it affects women in general.
In her remarks, Dr. Lady Francisca Uche Obi thanked the Model United Nations Ambassador, Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu, for identifying with her pet project, which has provided succour to women in Nigeria. She stated that she is motivated to do more for the women folk and youths in general as the honour will serve as an encouragement to her.
