Musician Sent To Prison Over N10k Drinks Debt

A 28-year old music artist, James Hamed parading himself as T-Money has landed in prison after he went to a beer joint and hosted his friends and was unable to pay the N10,000 drinks he incurred in Ajegunle, Lagos.
T-Money was handed over to the police who charged him before a Lagos court siting in Apapa for his criminal conducts.
The incident happened at 10, Taiwo Street in Ajegunle area of Olodi Apapa where the complainant, Mrs Monsurat Ademola runs a bar.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Hamed, who is cooling his feet in prison custody at Kirikiri Town, took his friends to Ademola’s Bar and ordered drinks for them including himself.
After they finished drinking, Hamed wanted to leave without paying the cost of the drinks, Ademola had to remind him that he had not paid the bill.
It was then, Hamed informed her that he had no money to pay for the drinks and promised to pay her later when he would have raised money.
Ademola refused and informed Hamed that where he bought the drinks she sold to him was not on credit as such she will not oblige him such request because he did not tell her earlier.
This caused exchange of words between Ademola and Hamed and she contacted the police who apprehended Hamed and took him to the station.
At the station, the police discovered that Hamed had no plans to pay for the drinks.
Our correspondent also gathered while at the Station, another woman, Josephine Onuwe of 50 Wowo Street, Olodi Apapa surfaced and informed the police that Hamed was also owing her N49,000 in the similar manner.
The police charged him to court where he pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr M.A. Etti granted Hamed bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
Hamed was remanded in prison pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned to 29 January 2017.
