The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government Area, Lagos State, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has assured that his administration is fully committed to effective implementation of the Budget of Better Days 1.0.
Comrade Dauda gave the assurance in his New Year message to Ikeja Constituents. He said, “As we step into the year 2026, I give all glory and gratitude to Almighty God for His mercy, protection, and guidance over the good people of Ikeja. I sincerely thank you for your support, trust, and cooperation throughout the past year. Together, we have laid a solid foundation for progress, unity, and purposeful governance, and I am confident that the year ahead will usher in greater accomplishments for our beloved local government”.
“In 2026, my administration is fully committed to the effective implementation of the Budget of Better Days 1.0, a people-focused fiscal plan anchored on the I.K.E.J.A Agenda. This budget will drive key developmental priorities, including the ongoing Onilekere–Onipetesi link bridge, the establishment of a new local security outfit to further safeguard lives and property, the delivery of new and improved educational infrastructure, the commencement of a new Primary Health Care Centre, enhanced social welfare support for our elders, expanded youth empowerment and skills development programmes, improved partnership with international organisations, a stronger and more deliberate focus on human capital development, and continued strategic engagement and collaboration with major stakeholders across all sectors.”
“We are also prioritising improved environmental sanitation and cleanliness across Ikeja, as a clean environment is fundamental to public health, dignity, and sustainable development. As we move forward, I respectfully appeal to all residents to remain law-abiding, security-conscious, and supportive of government initiatives. I also urge you to continue to fulfil your civic responsibilities through the prompt payment of rates and taxes, as your cooperation is essential to enabling the local government to deliver quality services and run a seamless, accountable administration.”
“I assure you that 2026 shall indeed be a year of greater opportunities, shared prosperity, and visible dividends of democracy for all and sundry. Together, we will consolidate our gains and translate the promise of Better Days into a lived reality in every community of Ikeja. Happy New Year! Better days are here!” Comrade Dauda concluded.
