NANS Unveils KOH 4 Lagos Students Movement

In a major political declaration that signals a unified front across tertiary institutions in Lagos State, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has officially unveiled the KOH 4 LAGOS Students Movement. The unveiling took place during a press conference held at Yaba College of Technology.

 

The movement, described by student leaders as “The Voice of Students in Lagos,” was created to drive student engagement, electoral participation, and advocacy for progressive governance across all campuses in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the executive leadership, student representatives emphasized that Nigerian students can no longer remain passive onlookers in political engineering, describing youth and students as active stakeholders and the vanguard of national development.
Unanimous Endorsement for Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat

 

Central to the unveiling was the movement’s formal endorsement of Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat (KOH) for Governor of Lagos State.

 

Highlighting Dr. Hamzat’s extensive track record in public service, the movement praised his foundational role in digitalizing Lagos governance as former Commissioner for Science and Technology, his infrastructure delivery as Commissioner for Works, and his executive experience serving as Deputy Governor.

“Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat represents the gold standard of modern public administration, technological foresight, and strategic governance,” student leaders declared.

“His vision for a smart, digital, and economically vibrant Lagos directly aligns with the aspirations of every Nigerian student seeking global competitiveness, STEM development, and career pathways post-graduation.”
Full Slate of Candidates Endorsed
Beyond the governorship, the KOH 4 LAGOS Students Movement unveiled a comprehensive list of endorsed candidates across executive and legislative seats:
* Presidential Candidate: His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his commitment to youth development and student-centered educational policies.
* Governorship Candidate: Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat (KOH).
* Senatorial Candidate: Sen. Wasiu Sanni Eshinlokun (Lagos Central Senatorial District).
* House of Representatives Candidates: Mayor Dele Oshinowo (Kosofe Federal Constituency) and Hon. Fuad Laguda (Surulere Federal Constituency).
* Lagos State House of Assembly Candidates: Hon. Ajani Owolabi (Lagos Mainland 1), Hon. Adebola Rasheed Shabi (Lagos Mainland 2), Hon. Yunus Nurudeen Onirakunmi (Lagos Island 2), Hon. Oluwagbenga Abiola (Agege 1), and Hon. Seriki Muritala (Kosofe 2).
Grassroots Mobilization Across Campuses

Following the press conference, leadership announced the immediate rollout of a state-wide campus mobilization strategy. The campaign will focus on Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection drives, hostel-to-hostel sensitization, digital outreach, and voter turnout initiatives across all higher institutions in Lagos State.
The leadership concluded by calling on all students and young voters across Lagos to unite behind candidates who have demonstrated a clear commitment to educational development, youth empowerment, and sustainable infrastructure.
