The Nigerian Senate last week, during plenary session, received a formal request from President Muhammadu Buhari, to confirm the nomination of a former Speaker of the 6th Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Amaechi Nwoha, as the Commissioner representing SouthEast Zone at the National Assembly Service Commission, (NASC).

The request, it was gathered, was contained in a letter dated 9th July, 2021, and read during the plenary session presided over by the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan.

President Muhammadu Buhari, in his request letter to the Senate, as obtained by 4th Estate Reporters, said Nwoha’s nomination complied with the Provisions of Section 3, Sub-section 4 of the National Assembly Service Commission Act, 2014.

Rt. Hon. Amaechi Nwoha, a refined, articulate and boardroom political strategist, has remained  resourceful and relevant in the All Progressives Congress, APC and Imo political leadership discuss,  despite having left elective position since 2011 as Speaker of the 6th Imo State House of Assembly.

As one of the most experienced former legislators in the state,  Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha  appointed Rt. Hon. Amaechi Nwoha as his Special Adviser on Legislative Matters and Government Liaison Officer to the State House of Assembly in 2011 immediately after his emergence as Imo Governor; a position he held for three years until he was appointed Chairman of the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISEC) between 2013 – 2018.

Until his nomination as a Federal Commissioner by President Muhammadu Buhari, Rt. Hon. Amaechi Nwoha has remained a committed party chieftain, who worked very assiduously in  assisting the APC to consolidate on its gains and political grips in Nwangele LGA and across the state.

While speaking on telephone conversation with the Publisher of 4th Estate Reporters, the Amaigbo – Nwangele born lawyer turned politician, seized the opportunity the medium has created to heartily thank the Imo State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma for facilitating his appointment against all odds.
He however, promised to use his good office after confirmation by the Nigerian Senate to serve Imo State in particular, SouthEast Zone and the country at large; as he sees service to the people from the prism of being one of life’s most awesome privileges.

Meanwhile, ahead of his screening at the floor of the Nigerian Senate, a rather friendly  Amaechi Nwoha has been greeted with a deluge of congratulatory messages from political associates, party faithful,  Nwangele and Imo leaders, whose content of online goodwill  messages show approval for a nomination nay appointment, well deserved.
