Teeming constituents from Ogun West Senatorial District under the leadership of Distinguished Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi, student groups, youth groups and other stakeholders have declared that they are not going to be part of the planned protest by faceless groups.
While distancing from the planned protest, Alhaji Olaseni Muktar Koiki, Director General of Caucus 7202, on behalf of the support groups said, “To all support groups, youths, and students under Caucus 7202, we hereby implore you all to shun the planned national protests. As loyal supporters of our leader, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI), we must prioritize our community’s progress and stability over partisan interests”.
“Our focus should be on promoting good governance, development, and peace in Ogun West,Ogun East and Ogun Central rather than engaging in activities that may disrupt our collective growth.”
“I urge you all to remain calm, law-abiding, and committed to our shared vision. Let us continue to work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come.”
In the same vein, the Students’ Union Government of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State, in a statement signed by the SUG President, Macaulay Boluwatife, indicated that they are not going to be part of the protest.
They stated, “We the members of the Students’ Union Government hereby indicate our decision not to be part of the national protest organized by unknown people and organization, which is scheduled from 1st August to 10th August, 2024”.
“We will work along with the School Management to ensure peace and safety of all students and staff of the institution.”
The Ilaro Youth Development Forum, under the auspices of the Olori Odo, Chief Adedeji Ogunleye (Okado) also unequivocally dissociated itself from any planned protest within the Ilaro Community.
“While the Forum acknowledges the prevailing tension and pressure within the town due to the socio-economic challenges facing the nation, it strongly believes that constructive dialogue, fueled by patience and perseverance, remains the most effective path to achieving a better community.”
“The Forum urges all youths in Ilaro to shun any form of violence or disruptive behaviour. It is imperative that we maintain peace and order within our community as we collectively seek solutions to the challenges confronting our nation.”
“In support of the Government’s efforts to address the nation’s predicaments, the Forum enjoins all youths to embrace peace and avoid all vices. It is through unity and cooperation that we can build a prosperous Ilaro and Nigeria at large.”
“The Olori Odo, Chief Adedeji Ogunleye (Okado), has called on all youths to be law-abiding citizens and to contribute positively to the development of their community” Ilaro Youth Development Forum concluded.
