The stool of Council of Igbo traditional rulers a.k.a Ezendigbo in Lagos State, supposed to be a dignified position. However, since dubious people took the position, they have become a laughing stock to Ndigbo, who mock them daily and label them as dubious characters.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that it may have led to the reaction of Ndigbo in Lagos, who were shock over their lies on the social media over the dissolution of Council of Ezendigbo and Elders created by the Ohanaeze President, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, when he took over.
The lies drew the attention of the former Presidents of Ohanaeze and Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Political Forum, Chief Chris Ekwilo, who slammed the dubious Ezes for publicly telling lies over the creation of the two dissolved organs for constituting nuisance in Lagos State.
Chief Ekwilo, popularly known as Anya Ndigbo and Political Gas, gave the details of how President Solomon Ogbonna Aguene formed Council of Traditional Rulers and Elders when he took over.
He said that after the inauguration of Aguene as President, he created Council of Traditional Rulers and appointed Ezendigbo, Lagos State, Eze Christian Nwachukwu as Chairman and he managed their affairs until when his tenure elapsed and Eze Chris Offia was appointed.
However, before he was sacked, he was the chairman and continued until he became anti-Ohanaeze and he was laid off while another Council was created under the leadership of Eze Lawrence Nnamdi Eze.
On the dissolved Council of Elders, Chief Ekwilo said that he was a member and only attended their meetings two times before he opted out because they constituted serious nuisance and embarrassment to the Ndigbo in Lagos.
He said the first sign that led to the collapse before it was dissolved by Chief Aguene, was instead of doing their meetings at the Ohanaeze Secretariat in Surulere, the sacked former Chairman, Chief Oliver Akubueze, took the meeting to Ikeja and brought in all manners of people, even below the required age to merit being members of Elders Council.
Chief Ekwilo explained that the dissolution was in order because it was formed by Chief Aguene and dissolved by the same Aguene, who created it and it stands dissolved.
In the same vein, another former President of Ohanaeze, Dr Femi Ferguson, expressed shock over the lies being circulated on the social media on tenure extension by the same faces, who had sworn that Ndigbo will not have peace in Lagos.
He explained that Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene did not extend his tenure nor went to Court to extend his tenure.
Dr Femi Ferguson stated that he was among the Parties that went to Court after Ohanaeze Worldwide dissolved the newly elected executives in 2018 and conducted another election where Aguene emerged and he was joined in the suit.
He said the Parties in the suit agreed that since Aguene has demonstrated that he was a man of peace, the parties agreed on the Consent Judgment and allowed him to stay as President while election will be conducted in other various positions to accommodate other factions including Col. Nwakor’s group.
Dr Femi Ferguson stated that Ndigbo are solidly behind Aguene and they will continue to support him because he has exposed the members of the cabals that had been causing havoc in Lagos.
Some of the Igbo stakeholders who spoke to P.M.EXPRESS stated that it was during Aguene’s era that many things got exposed including those who had been ripping Ohanaeze off over the years.
Chief Smart Onyia reacted over the purported impeachment of Aguene and mocked those behind the propaganda. He explained that invasion of the meeting venue by thugs does not amount to impeachment because after the thugs had left, the meeting continued until the closing prayer was said.
He reiterated that Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene is the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State and the Igbo are solidly behind him.
