Ohanaeze Ndigbo President, Lagos State, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, has stated that Ndigbo massively voted for the Governor,  Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, during the gubernatorial election as he enjoined Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to deliver the dividends of democracy.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Chief Aguene stated this at the Ohanaeze Secretariat in Surulere area of Lagos during the Ohanaeze General Assembly meeting that was attended by members from across the Local Government areas in the State.

He stated that those who say that Ndigbo did not vote for Governor Sanwo-Olu are mischievous and enemies of Ndigbo, who want the Governor to deny Ndigbo their rights for their efforts during the election.

“Anyone who says that Ndigbo did not vote for the Governor should also tell us those who are the indigenes who voted against the party and other tribes that voted against the Governor as well.”

Chief Aguene stated that Ndigbo made a lot of sacrifices to ensure that Sanwo-Olu won the election stating that he was very sure that majority of the Igbo came out to vote for continuity because of the love the Igbo have for Governor Sanwo-Olu.

“When I directed my people to stand with Governor Sanwo-Olu, they all agreed with me. Mr. Sanwo-olu is a friend of Ndigbo and we will continue to support him.”

He appealed to the Governor to accommodate Ndigbo by giving them some appointments in his cabinet stressing that it will make the relationship between the Igbo, the Yoruba and indeed the APC stronger.

On President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he called on all Nigerians to be patient and give him the needed support because he will perform and give Nigerians the desired dividends of democracy.

He stated that Asiwaju is man full of wisdom and admirable leadership qualities and will definitely rise to the occasion to deliver democratic dividends to Nigerians. He noted that he has loyalists that cut across all the States and institutions as such it will be easier for him to use them to achieve success as he did in Lagos State.

“Tinubu will deliver as he has promised during the campaign and in his acceptance speech as the then President-elect.”

“Therefore, I make passionate appeal to Nigerians to exercise restrain and have patience because he will surely perform and make the difference.”

“The President’s antecedent has shown him to be a unique leader, who has the gift of identifying capacity and talents and inspire them to deliver the greatest common good. His leadership recruitment is second to none. The political mentorship and largesse are legendary and have changed the fortunes of many individuals in the political space who ordinarily wouldn’t have the clout and wherewithal to actualize their political ambitions.”

Chief Aguene also appealed to the President Tinubu to include Ndigbo in his plans because they have the capacity and had been part of the development strides in both Lagos State and Nigeria over the years because of their creative abilities and human resources.
