His Royal Majesty, Oba Ebenezer Agboola Ogungbemi (JP), Olu of Iyemero Kingdom has cried out to the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, to consider siting a police station in his community for the security of lives and property of his subjects.
In a ‘Save Our Souls’ message sent to the media for prompt attention, the monarch said, “I, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ebenezer Agboola Ogungbemi (Jp) Olu of Iyemero Kingdom, on behalf of the Olu of Iyemero Coucil of Chiefs and the entire sons and daughters of Iyemero Ekiti both home and abroad hereby seek Your Excellency’s consideration and approval for the immediate siting of a fully fledged operational police station in Iyemero Ekiti in order to curb the incessant attacks on lives and wanton destructions of large agricultural farmland and produce in Iyemero Ekiti”.
“Special land as been allocated for the proposed building and temporary residence for the police has also been provided.”
“These criminal activities are most times perpetrated by armed hooligans and intruders who are purportedly called herdsmen who suddenly stumble to kill and destroy.”
“If this request is timely considered and approved, it will guarantee the security of lives, properties and farmsteads of Iyemero people” the monarch concluded.
