The Chairman, House Committee on Lands and lawmaker representing Ikeja Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Adedamola Kasunmu (ARK), has felicitated with constituents on the occasion of Nigeria’s 61st Independence celebrations.
In his independence day message, Hon Kasunmu said, “Every 1st of October presents the opportunity for us as a nation to reflect on the journey so far, be thankful for the present and  ponder on the tasks ahead in our quest to achieve a prosperous nation with flourishing citizens”.

“Our Independence Day celebration is also a reminder of the hope, faith, aspirations, potentialities and achievable greatness of  our Nation Nigeria as we look into the future.”

“On this occasion of our 61st Independence anniversary as a free nation under God, I want to specially congratulate all Nigerians home and abroad, especially the good people of Ikeja Constituency 2 of Lagos State, for our staying power, tenacity, determination and utmost faith in the emergence of a greater Nigeria.”

“This anniversary is certainly not about Nigeria’s Eldorado, rather it is about the reality that, no matter how tough, huge or threatening our present challenges are,  we are confident that our  Nation will surmount them all and manifest as a great country in the comity of nations across the globe.”

“This assurance is more reinforced by the glaring truth that Nigeria is blessed with millions of exceptional, talented, resourceful and patriotic citizens who have all it takes to take Nigeria from where we are right now to where we are supposed to be. It is instructive to note that, the bulk of the citizens in this category are made up of the youths.”

“As we celebrate this year’s independence anniversary therefore, I want to use this opportunity to canvas once again for the inclusion of more capable youths in the process and system of decision making and leadership of our nation. This is one of the surest route to take in finding lasting solutions to the myriads of challenges confronting us as a nation.”

“On our part as members of the Legislative Arm of Government, we will continue to provide qualitative representation and champion the quest for a better society for all citizens and stakeholders.”

“Permit me to round up this piece with the lyrics of the second stanza of our National Anthem which is an interesting supplication:

_”Oh God of creation, direct our noble cause__And guide our leaders right__Help our youth the truth to know_ _In love and honesty to grow__And living just and true__Great lofty heights attain__To build a nation where peace and justice__Shall reign”._
*Long Live Ikeja Constituency 2!**Long Live Lagos State!!**Long Live Nigeria!!!*
Happy Independence Anniversary to you all” Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu concluded.
