On the occasion of Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary, Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe, National President Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria and President General Orashi National Congress, has expressed faith that the dreams of the nation’s founding fathers, is still alive and called for unity of purpose.

In his Independence Day message, Snr. Comrade Ibe said, “It is a great milestone which calls for both celebrations and sober reflections as we need to uphold the virtues of sincerity, national unity, justice and fairness while rejecting impunity to enable the country to realise its full Potentials. As a blessed nation and the true giant of Africa, we must anchor on unity and exhibit the capacity to overcome the current security and economic challenges by first shunning the planned protests this October”.

“I therefore, plead with the youths and people of southern Nigeria to stand up for peace, national interest and unity. I call on leaders at all levels to imbibe honour and integrity in their day to day activities with strict adherence to the rule of law, which will promote mutual coexistence as well as actualize the dream of the nation’s founding fathers.”

“In spite of the challenges the nation has faced, the centrifugal forces that have been at play in these past years, the peoples’ common heritage, Nigeria, to the glory of Almighty God, has remained intact. And truly, the nation is going through tough times and terrible difficulties, which had on many occasions brought her close to the edge of the precipice. But God, in His infinite mercies, has always pulled her back.”

The National President Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria advised Nigerians not to despair, even in the midst of all the myriad of challenges because we have what it takes to be great.

“Nigeria is hugely blessed in both human and material resources and we are too important to fail and, we must reinvent ourselves for future generations.”

“The grace of the Almighty God has guided Nigeria out of challenges and threats to its corporate existence, and the same God will continue to steer the ship of the country away from doom”  Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe stated.
