Nigeria Army Ranks Among The Best – Uzodinma

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has stated that Nigeria Army ranks first in the world when it comes to patriotism and dedication to duty.   

The Governor stated this during the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration at the Heros-square, Owerri.

 He described the celebration as a sober moment and reassured the Nigerian Army that the Imo State Government will continue to appreciate, sponsor and encouraged them in the discharge of the job for protection, defence and unity of Nigeria.  He also assured the widows (wives) of the Fallen Heroes that his Government will continue to support and assist them in their honouring job of family up bringing, pointing out that, to defend Nigerian unity, the National interest must be protected, adding that, “we need national United Nigeria that will ensure National Integration, National Protection and National cooperation”.

 Governor Uzodinma explained, that the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration remains a day set aside for Nigerians to remember the end of the ugly civil war that took the lives of many Nigerians but expressed gratitude to God that today, we have a United Nigeria.  In his remarks, the Imo State Chairman, Nigerian Legion, Comrade AlphonsusAnyanwu, commended the Nigerian Government for giving honour to the Fallen Heroes but called on them to see to the cause of the disabled veterans, widows and orphans of the Fallen Heroes, whom he said need a lot of assistance because of the situations they are facing. 

In her little contribution, the President of the wives of the Fallen Heroes, Imo State Chapter, Mrs. Joy Akunna Moses, expressed satisfaction over the way and manner the Imo State Government cared for the widows of the Fallen Heroes in this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day  Celebration.
