Nigeria Cricket Federation has given thumbs up to the recent sports reforms by the Ministry of Youth and Sports .
The Vice President of the NCF Mr Uyi Akpata gave the commendation at the maiden NCF Awards night and Dinner held Sunday at D’Venue Events Centre, Victoria Island Lagos.
According to Mr Akpata, the Sports Reforms paved the way for the new board which has done so well since they were sworn-in.
“We want to thank the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Barrister Solomon Dalung for making it possible for this new board to emerge. If not for his insistence on a totally democratized Sports Federation, we will not be here today.
“This is just the beginning of good things to come from the Nigeria Cricket Federation. Most of the people you’re seeing here tonight, have not come together like this in many years, so I want to thank the Minister for creating an enabling environment for credible elections to take place which produced this board without which, this awards night and dinner would not have been possible” Uyi said.
Recipients of the awards included former and serving administrators, elders of the cricket family, best male and female cricketer, best Coach and referee, best team as well as sponsors.
