As all the Career and Non-Career Ambassadors assume offices in their respective countries in order to discharge their onerous tasks as diplomats, the President of the Republic of Burundi, H.E Évariste Ndayishimiye, on Friday 21st May, 2021, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Republic of Burundi, H.E Amb. Elijah C. Onyeagba, PhD., at the State House in Bujumbura.
The ceremony, which was an opportunity for the Nigerian diplomat to present his letters of credence and assume full status as the Representative of the Federal Government of Nigeria, was witnessed by the Burundian Foreign Affairs Minister, His Excellency Albert Shingiro.
“I bring to you the warm wishes of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Our President’s charter towards this mission remains for Africa to continue to maintain regional and sub-regional stability. Nigeria is poised to continue its role as big brother in Africa.”
“I bring to you the compliments of His Excellency to the good people of Burundi and the Nigerian community here” he said.
The Diplomat, Amb. Elijah Onyeagba, PhD, arrived the State House in the company of his wife, Lady Udo Onyeagba, Chief of Staff, Chief Ogochukwu Egolum, the Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of Burundi, Amb Albert Shingiro and his aides.
