FUNSHO AROGUNDADE/Abuja
On Wednesday night, a cross-section of Nigerian entertainers and footballers were guests of President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha Buhari during a special dinner and launch of a movement, Together Nigeria held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The event was put together by the Buhari Support Organisation (BSO) as part of the campaign strategy for President Buhari who is seeking re-election in February 2019.
At the well-attended glamorous event, plaques were presented to the attendees for their contribution to Nigerian entertainment.
Stars in attendance included Prince Jide Kosoko, Fuji music icons Gen. Kollington Ayinla, KWAM 1, Adebayo ‘Oga Bello’ Salami, Yinka Quadri, Saidi Balogun, Olaiya Igwe, Idowu Phillips, Woli Arole, Broda Shaggi, Toyin Abraham, Chinedu Ikedieze and Bimbo Akintola.
Others were Alexx Ekubo, IK Ogbonna, Dayo Amusa, Mercy Aigbe, Korede Bello, Rita Edochie, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Kenny St Brown, Faithia Williams, Ice Prince, Iyanya, Olu Maintain and Joke Silva.
Also in attendance were retired footballers include Former Nigeria Goalkeeper Peter Rufai, Daniel Amokachi, Uche Okechukwu and Garba Lawal.
Wife of the Vice President Dolapo Osinbajo, Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun and Governor Al-Makura Tanko of Nasarawa were also present at the event.
There were music performances by Gen. Kollington Ayinla and K1.
BSO, set up to canvass for support for President Buhari’s re-election, is headed by the Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (Rtd).
