Mushin Local Government Workers in Lagos were shocked when they came to work after the weekend only to find the dead body of their security guard inside the council hall.

The incident happened on Monday morning when the workers resumed work and found the lifeless body of the deceased simply identified as Tolu.

The matter was reported to the police, they came to the council, removed the corpse and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy report.

The manner of his death surprised many workers who saw him when he resumed work on Sunday evening and later found him dead inside the hall.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that throughout the week, Tolu had complained about the travail of his only brother who was arrested for murder and detained at the SCIID Panti, Yaba, Lagos. It was learnt that his brother had a fight with his friend at Yaba area and in the process, the brother used a nail to stab his friend and he died.

The brother was arrested and Tolu had been shuttling between his work place and Panti for his release. It was gathered that he returned from SCIID and was unable to secure the release of his brother because of the financial implications. He then went to work dejected and the following morning, he was found dead inside the hall.

When P.M.EXPRESS visited Mushin Local government on Tuesday, the workers confirmed the incident and were in a mournful mood over his death.
Some of the workers who spoke to our correspondent described Tolu as an easy going person who cared and was always willing to assist people.

The Council chairman could not be reached for comments as the workers said he was not on seat.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the Council may not have much to do with his burial because Tolu was not a staff of the Council, because it was the company the Council engaged for security services that will have to take care of his burial.
