Bouncer at a club
A bouncer, Charles Chinonso, who allegedly stabbed a man to death at a club house in Lagos has been remanded in Ikoyi Prisons by an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court.
Magistrate O.O.A. Fowowe-Erusiafe ruled that Chinonso, 24, should be remanded in the prison custody pending legal advice from the office of the State Director of Public Prosecutions.
The plea of the accused was, however, not taken in court.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Maria Dauda, told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 20 at about 3.30 a.m at Tanza Nite Club in Ago-Okota area of Lagos.
Dauda said that the accused stabbed the deceased, Emeka Ojukwu, with a kitchen knife in the neck and bled to death.
The offence contravened Section 222 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (revised).
The magistrate adjourned the matter until July 24.
