The pre-season match played at the Araromi Youth Development Centre between Buruj Football Club and Jaiyesimi FC, gave an insight and showed the readiness of the players ahead of the commencement of the Nationwide League One, which commences in March.
Horlah Oladeji, an U-20 Goal Keeper, who recently joined the club, kept a clean sheet on his first appearance for the club with a lot of beautiful saves, which denied Jaiyesimi FC their scoring chances on each of their attempt.
Buruj FC Striker, Nurudeen Adebeshin, scored a fantastic goal through his accelerated moves which beat Jaiyesimi FC’s two defenders. That was the only goal scored as Dappa Da-Asawo lost two clear chances to Jaiyesimi FC Goal Keeper. The skipper, Noah Salaudeen, also lost a penalty as Nurudeen got hacked down by Jaiyesimi FC defender in the 18 yard box; that would have awarded the Buruj team their second goal.
At full time the match ended 1 – 0 in favour of Buruj Football Club.
The match played was tagged as one amongst the pre-season friendly matches which gave opportunities to some professional players who approached the club for screening and their performance were used to assess them.
