It did not come as a surprise to some of us, especially those who have followed his activities since his appointment not long after Mr. President assumed the mantle of leadership in 2023. His actions and inaction have hitherto been tailored towards accentuating the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
Over the last 24 months, his impacts have consistently been marked with visible and piquantly commendable strides. From taking the agency, Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) from near obscurity to global prominence, and from pushing Nigeria on a competitive reckoning on global stage to marked and indelible footprints in the area of energy wherewithal on the home soil, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, Director-General/Chief Executive Officer, deserves his flowers.
Bagging an honour for ‘Excellence Award As Energy Man of the Year’ during the Nigerian Oil & Gas Forum & Awards (NOGFA 2026) event organised by the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources is a fête worthy of celebration. Such awards are not obtained through ‘bóólèkájà’ or ‘Olúwọlé’ kind of arrangement. Rather, a recognition through dint of hard work, visible and measurable impact.
Dr. Abdullahi remains one of the handful appointees of Mr. President who have continued to prove the Renewed Hope manifestoes of the Commander-in-Chief is NOT a FLUKE after all. As a true hierophant of the Jagaban of Borgu kingdom, he’s proving a worthy mentee of the generalissimo and Strategist-
General of Nigeria’s political history.
Congratulations are therefore in order!
