A 29-year old notoroius cultist, Gbenga Aluko, has been sentenced to death by hanging by the High Court sitting in Ekiti State for being involved in cultism and murders of three people in cold blood in the state.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Presiding Judge, Justice Abiodun Adesodun, while delivering his verdict stated that the prosecutor was able to prove the allegation against Aluko beyond reasonable doubt and found him guilty.

“The punishment for the offence perpetrated is death, he is herewith convicted to death by hanging.”

The Judge stated that it was discovered that Aluku was a member of Eiye Fraternity, a banned secret society, opposed to column 4 of the Prohibition and Abolition of Secret Cult Law of Ekiti State, Nigeria.

Admitting to the offences and allegations brought against him, Gbenga confessed that he and the members of his cult group in Ado-Ekiti, planned the murders of some individuals, who were assumed to be also rival cult members.

To prove the case, the Prosecuting Attorney, Julius Ajibare, invited two witnesses but presented no exhibit, while Aluko brought no witness but communicated through his lawyer, Femi Adetoye.

Gbenga and other three members of the Eiye Fraternity, Olamide Olurunsola, 43,  Ayodele Ayodeji, 31 and Adewale Adekunle 23, hail from Ifaki, in Ekiti State.

They were apprehended in February 2019, by SARS, for apparent involvement in the murders of the Black Axe, ‘Aiye’ Confraternity members, in Ondo and Ekiti states.

Items regained from them were charms, 1 cutlass, 1 laptop, a foreign lady’s photograph, 2 iPad devices, and 1 Infinix mobile phone.
