Police operatives have arrested a 23-year old suspected killer of the staff of a popular hotel, Kehinde Bakare, who has been on the wanted list, on Lagos Island.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Bakare was arrested by the Police at Obalande area in connection with the murder of late Samuel Ladejo, the staff of Famous Hotel and recovered arms and ammunition, which he uses for operation in the process.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Bala Elkana. He said that on 12 September, 2019, at about 1615hrs, following a sustained monitoring, Kehinde Bakare, 23, a prime suspect in connection with the murder of one Samuel Ladejo ‘m’ was arrested at Obalende and one locally made pistol with two live cartridges was recovered from him.
He recalled that on 1st October, 2018, at about 0600hrs, One Bisi Komolafe (f) Assistant Manager of Famous Hotel, situated at No. 36 Obalende Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, reported at the Police Station that one of their staff by name Samuel Ladejo, left the hotel to attend a party along Obalende Road, Ikoyi, where he was stabbed in the chest by some boys, who are now at large.
The victim, Samuel, was rush down to General Hospital for treatment due to the serious injury he sustained but he later passed on in the hospital.
DSP Elkana recalled that one of the suspects, Umukoro Otega, was earlier arrested in connection with the crime and was said to have mentioned Bakare as an accomplice.
Elkana said that Otega was charged to Court for murder while the police have been on the trail of Bakare until he was arrested.
