Lagos boxers are making steady progress fighting their ways to medal zone of their sport in the ongoing 22nd National Sports Festival tagged Gateway Games 2024 in Abeokuta, Ogun State
Those who made it to the ring on Thursday at Baptist High School within the ancient city of Abeokuta claimed victories over their respective opponents.
With the results coming in, Team Lagos, once again, are sending strong messages to the rest of the teams that they are in Abeokuta to maintain their powerhouse status in the Nigerian boxing.
Abijuwon Faruq beat Hassan Kehinde from Benue in the 50kg category. Team Lagos’ Lateef Qudus triumphed over Kashim David of Kogi State in the 55kg bout.
Omotajo Semiu won his 75kg bout against Bakare Azeem from Osun State
Meanwhile, more fights are scheduled for Friday at the same venue especially in the female categories and other men’s bouts
