The Not Too Young To Perform (NTYTP) Leadership Development Advocacy has commended the Federal Government of Nigeria, particularly the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, for initiating what it described as a “bold and inclusive” 2025 National Youth Conference (popularly referred to as the National Youth Confab). The organization called on young Nigerians across the country to embrace the initiative as a “historic opportunity for leadership and national development”.
In a press statement signed by its National Secretary, Arc Bello Muhammed, the NTYTP—a national youth-focused non-governmental organization with leadership structures in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)—described the Youth Confab as a defining moment in Nigeria’s journey toward transformational unity and youth-led development.
“This bold and inclusive effort is a defining moment in the nation’s journey towards transformational national unity and youth-driven development,” the statement reads. “By centering youth voices across six critical thematic pillars—ranging from governance and political participation to entrepreneurship, education, and climate action—the 2025 Youth Confab is a powerful platform for galvanizing Nigerian youths into active stakeholders in building a stronger, inclusive, and more prosperous Nigeria.”
A Turning Point for Youth Leadership
The NTYTP emphasized that the conference represents a significant shift in national policy direction by recognizing the demographic and intellectual strength of Nigerian youth. It hailed the initiative as a platform for channeling youthful energy, creativity, and innovation into meaningful roles in governance and nation-building.
“We strongly believe this initiative signals a timely call to national integration and provides Nigerian youth with an unprecedented opportunity to contribute meaningfully to governance, innovation, and intellectual productivity,” the organization stated. “It marks a turning point in channeling the demographic strength and aspirations of the youth towards driving Nigeria’s economic growth and securing the nation’s future through visionary leadership.”
Commendation for Presidential and Ministerial Leadership
NTYTP praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for demonstrating political maturity and statesmanship by ensuring that the conference remains non-partisan and inclusive of all youth voices across Nigeria’s diverse socio-political landscape.
“This act of statesmanship reinforces our conviction that the Nigerian youth must be empowered as equal partners in governance and national progress,” the statement noted.
The group also lauded the leadership of Hon. Ayodele Olawande, the Minister of Youth Development, and Olubunmi Olusanya, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry and Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee. It highlighted their “clarity of vision, competence, and commitment to youth inclusion” as a refreshing break from past practices that sidelined young voices.
Nationwide Call to Action
As part of its mobilization efforts, the NTYTP is calling on its network of members and chapters nationwide, along with all interested Nigerian youths, to register and participate in the Youth Confab as delegates.
“This is not just a conference. It is a national call to action—a golden opportunity for young Nigerians to step into their rightful roles as leaders, innovators, and nation-builders,” the organization declared.
Prospective delegates are encouraged to register through the official National Youth Confab portal or via NTYTP’s dedicated platform: www.nottooyoung.org.ng.
The 2025 National Youth Conference is expected to attract thousands of youth leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, academics, creatives, and grassroots change agents to deliberate on Nigeria’s future through a youth-centered lens.
