Nwankpo Is Loaded With Good Governorship Qualities

What are the qualities that those who want the best for Anambra should look for when selecting an individual who will make a good Governor? 

Clearly, such a candidate must be one who has the best interests of the state at heart, which means the Governor must know and understand Anambra and ndi Anambra. He needs to have an understanding of the wider context in which the government operates and of the political and socio-economic factors that affect the lives of ndi Anambra.

What distinguishes the best Anambra Governorship aspirant, Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo, is the value system, and awareness of the communities needs, its strengths and its ambitions for its people.These factors are important because they form the ethical framework for debate and decision-making on how the Government should approach its obligation of providing the best possible solutions to socioeconomic challenges facing the people of the state it serves.

There is a need for a Governor with skills and knowledge in addition to these qualities, but first and foremost Governor needs a moral compass and an understanding of the people that the government must serve.Ideally, besides the two qualities mentioned, there is a need for the Governor to have knowledge and skills in a range of areas and for at least to have the financial knowledge needed to oversee the management of the Government finances and the budgeting process.

As we throttle down to November 6, 2021, Anambra Governorship election, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, will choose their governorship flag bearer. They will select from the pool of qualified aspirants on parade. Amongst the major contenders for the Gubernatorial ticket, Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo, has been tipped as the best aspirant, one who possesses a good knowledge and understanding of National and State legislation and policies that govern the operation of the state governments. He understands the internal policies and procedures of the state he would govern, including its management and organisational structures.

With his balanced and professional performance in public service, the former aide to Dr. Goodluck Jonathan had served in various capacities in the past regimes. Nwankpo is armed with a deep knowledge of the workings of government, from state to federal levels. He climbed the ladder serving in Dr. Jonathan’s led governments, spanning from when he was the Deputy Governor, Governor of Bayelsa State and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Long before he joined the APGA, Nwankpo had served the former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan’s administration meritoriously that he became his personal envoy. 

The leadership of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, at all levels, and key stakeholders had wished and prayed for an experienced candidate; the Almighty God in his infinite mercy and compassion had provided the right man for the onerous task ahead in the person and personality of Akachukwu Nwankpo who is loaded with good governorship qualities.

Therefore, it is the sole prerogative of the party’s decision making body and delegates, who will be drafted in to participate in the primary election, to ensure that they hearken to the voice of reasoning, appreciate the divine gift to ndi Anambra, and with no doubts hand over the party’s Gubernatorial flag to Nwankpo.
