The traditional ruler of Shasha kingdom in Alimosho Local Government area of Lagos, HRM Oba Babatunde Akanbi Ogunronbi has concluded plans to mark his five years reign as the king of the community with pomp and fanfare.

The event, which will commence from 12 May and climax on 21 May, has been designed to thank God for His infinite merciless in sustaining the Oba on the throne and to showcase the culture and tradition of Shasha kingdom and Yoruba at large.

Speaking with our correspondent, Oba Ogunronbi expressed his gratitude to God for those years he has been on the throne, which he noted have been full of mixed blessing for him and the entire community.

Oba Ogunronbi also thanked the Lagos state governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode for his development strides in turning Lagos into a proper megacity.

He urged the amiable governor to remember Shasha as the area has not benefited much from the infrastructure development from the government.

“In terms of construction of roads and infrastructural development, Governor Ambode has done so well that he is becoming the most popular governor thus he should extend the dividend to our community to,” Oba Ogunronbi said.

He said while the community has already earmarked a land for the construction of Shasha market, it is regrettable that the project is yet to kick-off owing to the non-approval by the State government.
