A former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo will be leading other top dignitaries to the launch of a new book authored by seasoned journalist and immediate past Editor of The Punch newspaper, Mr. Adedayo Oketola.
At the book launch cum an exaugural lecture to mark the conclusion of Oketola’s tenure as editor, which will take place on Tuesday, 17 September at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, Chief Obasanjo will be the Special Guest Speaker.
Oketola recently left as editor of the daily title and is now a member of the newspaper’s editorial board.
With nearly 20 years of experience in journalism, the seasoned journalist has now authored a book titled ‘The Catalyst: Nigerian ICT Evolution Through a Journalist’s Lens’.
“I am excited to announce the upcoming launch of my book, The Catalyst: Nigerian ICT Evolution Through A Journalist’s Lens, scheduled for September 17, 2024,” Oketola wrote in a short notice.
“On the same day, I will also be hosting an exaugural lecture to mark the conclusion of my tenure as Editor of The Punch and nearly twenty years in journalism,” he added.
Following a long line of award winning editors who had held the position with such grace and professionalism, Oketola, while serving as editor of The Punch, won the Editor of the Year prize at the last edition of the Nigeria Media Merit Awards (NMMA) in December 2023.
He also led the organisation to win the Newspaper of the Year at the same award ceremony.
