In line with government’s commitment in providing adequate, affordable and accessible healthcare to Anambra people, Gov Willie Obiano, on Monday June 10th, visited the College of Nursing Sciences, Diocesan Hospital, Amichi, Nnewi-South LGA, to assess the facility and the internal roads constructed in the school by the State government.

The Governor appreciated the contributions of the Church in community development and expressed great delight at the efforts of the Amichi Diocese (Anglican Communion) for transforming a community hospital into a modern health facility.

“I am very impressed by the facility I’ve seen here. I must commend His Lordship the Bishop of Amichi Diocese, Rt. Rev’d Ephraim Ikeakor and Ndi Amichi for the marvelous transformation that we are all witnessing here today.

“The State Government will continue to provide support wherever it can. The roads within the facility have been asphalted by government but I have also instructed the Anambra Road Maintenance Agency (ARMA) to fix the roads leading to the hospital.”

Speaking further, the Governor encouraged the students and pledged provision of necessary assistance to aid the accreditation of the College’s School of Midwifery and School of Public Health. He donated a bus to the College.

Today we are witnesses to the asphalting of the internal roads in this facility by the state government, the commitment of the Governor to the accreditation of the schools of midwifery and public health and the overall progress of the College

“It is my hope and prayer that these Schools receive the accreditation of relevant authorities so that the students can graduate and practice without any impediment”.
