Contrary to the misleading report as contained in the New Telegraph Newspaper, the All Progressives Congress, APC Cross River Central Senatorial District ticket was won by Chief Akin Anderson Ricketts.
It was erroneously reported that the ticket was won by Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, while the former Cross River Commissioner for Information, Chief Ricketts, has been declared the winner in the just concluded All Progressives Congress, APC primaries and has been issued a certificate of return by the party.
The APC Returning Officer for the Central Senatorial District, Arc. Tata Ifere, had announced that Obol Akin Anderson Ricketts polled 12, 311 votes, while Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk polled 6, 520 votes, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba polled 251 votes and Prof Martin Obono polled 100, with total votes cast standing at 19, 092.
The Party’s Chairman, State Collation Centre, Ntufam Emma Anom, said that with the primary election having met the APC regulations and Obol Ricketts polling the highest number of votes, that is declared the winner.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Cross River State wants the general public to disregard any misleading report about the party primaries in the state.
